- As an airline pilot, I can tell you that in many instances converging aircraft that are 1000 feet below you often appear to be at the same altitude or slightly above at a distance. You've got to trust your instruments and ATC.

- I do not believe the Masters is a sanctioned event. Until a few years ago there was a PGA tour event held the same week. I think now the general tour just has the week off.

- This should not be an issue. Private clubs are just that PRIVATE and they alone should determine their own membership rules. Be they golf, gun, sewing, or book clubs they make their rules.

- I'm sure she had multiple sponsors one for skis, goggles, clothes, Monster, etc. Which of these should provide the insurance? None, she should take responsibility for herself, her bills, and her family. It sucks but I can't say I feel bad for her.

I worked for America West in Columbus, Ohio before it went belly up and it's amazing how people complain but they still keep buying the same old tickets for the same old airline. I do believe that these particular passengers were treated horribly, but to get the government involved is such a bad bad idea. Now me personally...terrified to fly so being on the ground is a relief to me :0) although I'm still in the industry and love it. Trave agent for 10 years, America West for 4 and back to managing AAA Travel for 3. Thank you for all you do - hope to be on one of your flights, I'll be the one crying uncontrollably and drinking shots of Jack :0)

Dear Pilot Chris,
Obviously you're not a JetBlue Pilot. I'm assuming it is for a bigger airline, but not Continental or Jetexpress. Seems like I read JetBlue hasn't ever had this issue, so I don't think the passengers will be stuck on tarmac on V-Day!

We are leaving Omaha in 2 wks on a Friday night, flying United to O'Hare. We better be on time, not sitting at O'Hare waiting to disembark, or we'll miss our connecting via SAS to Copenhagen. I was just visiting the 10 best airports site on msn yesterday, and NOT ONE was in the USA! Most were in Asia, but they did say Copenhagen was a top airport. They blamed weather for most missed and late flights. Gee! They have typhones in Asia and Earthquakes--Japan had 3 in one day this week. Yet, they still land, take off on time. Plus, they are new with shopping, swim pools and fish ponds.

This came down to the pilot. He goofed. He needs to be reprimanded, docked pay, written up--maybe fired. I don't know. Airport could have seen the plane sitting there. Someone should have radio'd the pilot from the airport.
